Sometimes the most meaningful donations come from the smallest hands and biggest hearts.
When Lincoln Rendon, Kennedy Rendon, and Hudson Rendon learned about families in their community who didn't have enough food, they knew they wanted to help. These three young entrepreneurs decided to earn the money themselves.
The children set up a lemonade stand in their neighborhood with one clear mission: to raise money specifically for the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry. After several days of serving neighbors, the trio had raised an impressive $85, a significant sum that represented hours of hard work and pure determination to make a difference in their community.

When the children arrived at the food pantry to make their donation, Debbie Lechman, the pantry's operations manager, graciously received their contribution and provided them with a behind-the-scenes tour of the facility. They saw where donations are sorted and learned about the 200+ families served each week.
The children's initiative demonstrates a powerful truth: community support comes in many forms, and sometimes the most impactful gifts come from those who give from the heart, not just the wallet.
Want to follow their example? Whether through a lemonade stand, bake sale, or other creative fundraiser, there are countless ways to support your neighbors in need. Contact the Bensenville Wood Dale Food Pantry to learn how you can help make a difference.
