Volunteers are critical to every aspect of our operation, providing hundreds hours of collective time every month. Thank you for your interest in joining our mission to end local hunger!

Many ways to help

Moving Truck

Pick-up / Deliveries

We reclaim perishable foods that still have 4-5 days of viability from local retailers.

Drivers must be 21 years old, have a valid IL drivers license, and be able to lift cases weighing up to 50 lb.

Client Service

Walk along with clients to help them make their selections, bag their groceries, and help them bring it out to their cars.

​

You must be able to stand/walk for 3-4 hours depending on your selected shift. Some lifting may be required.

Restocking​

The BWFP has a continuous flow of food items that must be sorted, processed, and stocked in preparation for client shopping.

​

You must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time. Some lifting may be required.
